The Overland Park Coalition is a community building organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Overland Park. We have partnered with County agencies and area businesses to improve our neighborhood. The Coalition is proud of the progress made over the past twelve years and is looking forward to continued progress in the future. We invite all residents of Overland Park to join us in the many programs, events, and activities to improve our community.
Working Together for a Better Community!
The next Coalition meeting will be Thursday July 27th, 2017, 6 pm to 8 pm, Round Table Pizza, Southgate Shopping Center.
The Coalition will be very busy again this year. All Coalition events are targeted to improve the quality of life in the Overland Park Neighborhood. Our events are an excellent way to volunteer in your neighborhood. Check out the events page.
Drug Take Back
The US consumes more prescription drugs than any other country in the world. When these drugs are not disposed of properly our environment can be damaged including our drinking water. We urge you to bring your unused prescription drugs to drop boxes at you local police station. Click here for more information.
The appearance of a neighborhood reflects its health and livability. Appearance has been the goal of the Coalition since it's beginning 16 years ago. Back then Overland Park was infested with Drug dealers, labs and users, and it looked like that's who would live here. Over the years the Coalition has worked not only to eliminate the drug problem, but to improve the appearance of Overland Park. This is why we have participated in dozens of clean-up projects. A neighborhood that looks neat and clean will be inhabited by people that care about their community. Today Overland Park looks like and is a great place to live. There are still some problem spots that need our attention. I encourage you to report these to code enforcement. Click here for more information.
See the new Sewer page for information about the sewer project.
The Neighborhood Watch program really works. It is how the residents of Overland Park took back their neighborhood. The Sheriff's office produces a fine newsletter with lots of information everyone should know.
